And starting taking pictures and uploading them instantly with these hashtags… because we knew it was the most happening party ever already even before it started

Being inside the flight simulator was the best feeling ever! You could feel every shock, movement, view from the cockpit and of course, the real system that’s embedded in every single plane out there! Super cool!

After our session, some acted cool but actually quite dizzy haha

Finally, we had to create a plane to win more stamps!

And we were done! We didn’t emerge first but we’re winners in our every right, kan team Green?!

Now we await the announcement…

And here were some winners! They’ve all won flights all around Asia but it will depend on who’s the lucky one!

I got lucky by winning flights to MACAU!!!! One pair free tickets from AirAsia woohoo! I love you AirAsia!

The others won different places including Bali and Krabi too awesome wei!!!

Shannon also won something ahhahhaha! Look at her face full of shock and happiness at the same time!

In conjunction with the appointment of Lisa Surihani and Shaheizy Sam as its Malaysian celebrity brand ambassadors, WeChat through the good folks at PersonEdge invited us to celebrate the launch of its first Malay TVC, together with the local performers Awi Rafael, Henley Hii, Vivian Chua, and the star DJ Rudy as the host for the night.

And boy was it a fun night or what!

Yeap, in the battle for mass users, WeChat has come to Malaysia by snapping up some of Malaysia’s most digital savvy celebrities, with Shaheizy Sam (956,000+ followers on Twitter, 460,000+ fans on Facebook) and Lisa Surihani (124,800+ followers on Twitter and 2,500,000+ fans on Facebook!) to be in board WeChat, and I’m sure their presence would cause their fans to directly contact them on the popular social messaging app – where you can even send voice messages instantly ala Walkie-Talkie style, “The New Way to Connect”.  (Get more features in the video below this post!)

The party took place at “The New Way to Connect”, where we were promised a sumptious dinner, and was not only surprised with that but something else as well! Look at them cute cupcakes! Doesn’t just look good, but is yums too

Since I have to focus on my fitness level this second half of the year, I thought of adding a more fun element in my regime apart from gymming at Celebrity Fitness: and that is to SWIM!

To make things even more challenging, Poesy Liang (yes, the amazing woman I got to feature at @EYEProject’s Student Leadership Symposium 2012) decided to rope me into her 1KM challenge for herself, and I thought to myself why not: the very notion of accompanying this woman braving through challenges in her life with such positivity should remind me of how blessed I am, and not to be discouraged by small problems!

“I am partially disabled and both my legs are weak due to extensive spinal surgeries to remove tumours. The residue of those battles with health left me with lost sensations in both legs. I cannot even suck in the left side of my tummy, let alone wear slippers/heels or maintain the balance when I walk at times. My reason to lose weight is not only a vain one, but to keep it light for my empty legs. When the floor is wet, I cannot tell as my feet has no grip and very often encounter falls. Also I may not always be aware of cuts, sprains, injuries or fractured toes. Some parts of my body has no temperature sensibilities either.

The miracle is that I can walk. It is also gratitude that drives me to upkeep this body of mine and live the best way possible. Eliminating all obstacles.

As a super fun and fitness project in conjunction of the 1KM challenge, I am basically looking for only 12 Bloggers this season (more later?) to join me in the discovery of the latest technology in learning how to swim in the shortest time possible, trained by the good people at SwimIn12.com! They claim to be different in a sense that they won’t waste your time more than you should to learn how to swim, and to actually heal your fear of water should you have any, too

The last time I done a search on this for various purposes, the only source out there that seemed reliable was found at Sabahan’s blog, which talks about the top 50 most influential blogs in Malaysia (2007). Apart from that, this is the first time a realistic effort is being done to create a dynamic ranking system in which those who are interested can improve their ranks, for whatever their reasons, all thanks to Adi.

Let’s view our current top 10 in the Malaysian blogosphere, shall we?

1. Hong Kiat — Design & Tech
2. Kenny Sia — Lifestyle
3. Paul Tan — Automotive
4. Raymond.CC — Tech
5. Anwar Ibrahim — Politics
6. Lim Kit Siang — Politics
7. Hemmy.net — Mixed
8. Jeff Ooi — Politics
9. LiewCF — Tech & Lifestyle
10. Cheeserland.com — Lifestyle

So what do you think then? The categories are not labeled in Adi’s system but I do think it’ll be an interesting addition to it, so that we can also filter the list by categories if we want to, to shortlist the top 10 for example by category. Adi, possible? If so how can we help?

One thing comes to mind after reading one of LiewCF’s commentator at his post, who said that some of these blogs are rubbish and that they gain traffic through linking their site at “blog communities” and such. I totally disagree on that, because if that were the case there will be many rubbish blogs who will have high traffic, simply by posting their URLs in every place they can find, including blogs, forums and community sites. However from the top 10 list, some of which I know personally, it is very apparent that each of them have their unique styles and content based on the category they are listed in, which is why they truly deserve to be top 10.

Of course sometimes we won’t know who they are, for instance, a friend of mine asked who the heck is Hong Kiat and why is he so popiuler. Geeks will all know of his site (which honestly, do make up most of the online population in Malaysia lol) because of the tips and tricks he writes, especially on WordPress-related issues (I go to his site for wordpress theme suggestions), but others who does not have interest in these things will not know of him. Maybe the commentator thinks of these as rubbish, because it does not relate to him or her, at least that’s what I think.

After taking a look at the list, I pleasantly noted a few familiar names like my ex-wife Suanie (57), Timothy(19), FriedBeef (24), KY (20) and ST (22) just to name a few and well, they really deserve to be there. Of course Cheesie, Kenny and PaulTan are obviously doing quite well with what they do to be at the Top 10. As for the politicians, their names alone are enough to send shivers down your spine, so it’s no surprise we see them there.

But what about others such as Quaintly.net or FourFeetNine, Suet Li’s’ or even NicoleKiss? I know they are all lifestyle bloggers (and pretty to boot) but I’m betting their hits should be somewhere at the Top 100, so why the missing links? It’ll be interesting as more blogs get inserted into the system for review, as Adi would probably be getting many requests as he’d mentioned in his post. Who knows what it might come up with?

In any case, like I said this post was supposed to be for the I’m a Standout in Life event, but somehow or rather I got sidetracked and did this instead. Anyhoo, if you guys are going, and if I did receive invites (any offers?) I’ll see you there. If not, there’s always Terminator Salvation tomorrow *grins*

Lastly, if you guys have any thoughts on this, do let me know. Maybe I’ll pass this on to Julian Hopkins for his research, this seems like a useful tool for him. Last month alone they secured 3 premier screenings which I went for, but my favourite was House Bunny which was just last week. It ended with such a fantastic note that I didn’t want to go home and just hang out with some friends instead, just like Zoe who didn’t manage to make me bow when I offered her a chance of a lifetime haha!.

That’s how I got to meet the bunch of bloggers that I’ve never met before, all except Josh la whom I’ve gotten quite acquainted with over several events, including Passion 2008, right after the Malaysian Student Leaders Summit. Pic stolen from Josh lol.

It was really fun hanging out with WetWetWater, Andrew, Ren, Zoe and Josh at Ming Tien’s, after finding out that William’s was closed. What to do, Ramadhan month what haha… that’s the only reason why Ming Tien was also so packed at about 1am in the morning! All in all we stayed until I had to go first, leaving the original gang to themselves… I guess when you have a great company, staying up all night is nothing eh?

UPDATE!

The four of us decided took AirAsia to Bali. Having my first intranational (is there even such a word?!) virgin flight, I was pretty excited to see AirAsia’s plane up close, though I should be used to this treatment (walking to our plane) after riding with EasyJet and RyanAir, just to name a few, back then when I was studying in London… Ah, the memories.
 

The ride was going to be short, say about 3 hours, so I had fun killing time with my DS, continuing my ever-going FF IV. In the meantime Cheesie decided to get some good reading done, though I’m not sure if her definition of “good reading” is anywhere near mine when I took a look at one of the pages of the book lolol. There were no other entertainment whatsoever, but that’s typical in budget airlines.
 

Kenny couldn’t resist his hunger for just 3 hours (God knows how he is going to run that marathon of his) so he got himself some Nasi Lemak, which he posted about here. He later got a visit by Tony Fernandes who invited him for an AirAsia event and flew him there for FREE. Hey, what about the rest of us la, invicible isit HAHA! Guess we are la. Damn that Kenny.

Anyway (sigh) the inside of the plane, though, are admittedly in a lot better condition then those you get overseas. Seriously, you don’t know until you actually compare that it’s as good as it gets with AirAsia. People can go ahead and complain but that’s how it is peeps. Now I wonder if Tony’s gonna read this and fly me to his next event haha. Okla I not so stingy, I invite the rest too
 

3 hours passed and we finally landed on Bali. The view outside as we landed was awesome okay, we couldn’t wait to go down and hit earth! When you see these 2 umbrellas inviting you into their corridor, you know you’re well safe in Bali

(soon we found out that there were many of such umbrella-ic temples around Bali, thanks to its Hindu heritage)
 

And only our lovable Kenny would do such a thing when everyone’s eyes cannot open liddat and are already falling out of its sockets. Crazy-ass fella got a cool sense of humour la I suppose heh
