I have since became his Godfather, making him my Godson, and seen the adorable Vodka learning simple tricks from his father, Mikel for the past 2 months. That kid’s clever and a quick learner as you can see, I hope you enjoyed the show!

HUGE BURGER CHALLENGE!

What on earth is that thing in front of the guy’s face?! Hint: Look at the bottom right corner of the TV.

Yeap those are two huge pieces of BUNS! Bear in mind the ang moh’s hand should be larger than ours already!

Correcto! What you saw in the first picture was a burger patty which is equivalent to 8 other normal 8oz patties put together!

And you can also layer THAT much cheese slices onto it. Sinful, I know, but would you love to have it right now… Yummers!

It’s a challenge burger in one of them US towns, where everything is larger than life. In this case, the owner/chef makes it a point to provide the challenge to his customers. If they aren’t able to eat the burger finish in a certain time span (an hour, I think) then they have to pay up for the price… which is humongous as well, as expected.

If he wins, though, he’ll get it free and will be recognized as a winner in many ways… free dinners, prizes and other benefits! In this guy’s case, though, he didn’t win. This

came from a show called “Man vs Food”… and this time, Food won

Would you be able to do it? I think I can, but I’m on a carb diet now, so no carbs for me if possible for the next 2 months, w00t!

I don’t have a lot of time in my free hands these few days thanks to many activities and events going on, so let’s make this entry a quick one with lots of pictures to whet your appetite

So there I was with Mikel, conveniently posing along the beautiful background.

As if the exterior design isn’t’ beautiful enough, their actual main focus is actually on the interior design!

And they have such cool menus too. More than 10 different styles of it!

First we had the Houesar Salad, which is their personalized version of the Caesar Salad. There were lots of crunchy fresh romaines drenched in dressing made of house-made mayo, garlic and ground anchovies, topped with crushed beef bacon, croutons and Permesan Reggiano, creating this lovely flamboyant of a salad. RM23.00

Next their “Beef Soup I Grew Up With” really did tweak our interest with their unique name, hence we ordered a bowl to be shared between us. Laden with huge, tender chunks of beef, potatoes, carrots, celery and peas, this savoury and heavenly soup is definitely a rich brew made to suit our tongues! RM19.00

Just to let you see the layout of the table with our dishes. For drinks we had fruit juices of sorts, among their many selections including Just Fruits ie Fuji Apple to persimmons, and yoghurts along with other natural/organic/healthy options. pan fried grouper, avocado, butter head lettuce and cheese was a little off to my taste, with the overpungent cheese (which I suspect is blue cheese) basically overrulling the avocado buttery taste among others. RM24.00

The pasta however won my heart. The Creamy Fettucine + Herbed Roast Chicken + Citron was just simply delicious as recommended by the kind waiteress. Imagine a plate filled with fresh fettucine littered with medallions of herbed roast chicken cooked in a light creamy sauce with a sprinkle of juicy citron and toasted almonds, there’s no way this particular combination could go wrong in any way. Totally loved this one, only at RM26.00

Well that’s about it with regards to the selection of food we ordered. Soon after finishing our meal we wondered around the large restaurant and found these:

The lovely entrance taking you into fantasy land.

The exterior section in front of the front porch, where you can sit down in these quirky chairs in your own comfort.

All furnitures here are sellable, as they showcase them deeper inside the restaurant (I see many picking up this business model, it certainly is the current trend)

At the other side of where we sat is a protusion that is showcasing their sofas. It looks so comfy, relaxing and pleasing to the eye!

The carpets were beautiful as well but I’m sure it came with a price!

There’s even a bed section wtf!

Anyway do pay a visit at this beautiful place that you will not be able to miss. House + Co, available at Bangsar Shopping Centre Level 3, by taking the lift right outside Coffee Bean!

Oh and beware.

The step where Mikel’s feet is on is actually made out of water! We actually managed to watch as a woman tried to get over to the other side and she actually STEPPED into the water before realising in horror what she just did!

Suffice to say we couldn’t stop laughing but discreetly of course, I mean, we never meant to laugh but at a situation like this, you just can’t help it XD

Aren’t they adorable? Hahaha okay I’m kidding, these birds are part of Garden’s decoration which cannot be missed if you’re coming out from the basement into the Central Area at the New Wing, 1 Utama. In fact they were so cute we decided there and then that we will celebrate our pre-valentine’s here.

My two loved ones aren’t those cute birds in the bird house, but Mikel and Zoe instead! They look so adorable posing with the birdhouse, don’t they? lol. This was all done while waiting for Christine, whom all of us were meeting for the first time, to arrive. It’s amazing how plurk brought us together like this

Welcome to Garden, 1 Utama

Garden’s ambience is really, really beautiful. A touch of nature with classy elegance created a fairy-like effect during our dinner session. Here’s Zoe smiling happily with the lovely scenery all around her

My soup was first to arrive, it was pretty quick service if you asked me! Not too bad tasting too.

The service was great even with quite a decent amount of customers sitting around the area. There were 3 different sitting areas and one could opt for a dark, foresty feel, an open air feel (where we are) and the corner, out-of-the-way feel where couples can choose to be intimate without being watched

Zoe’s tea arrive just then. She ordered some kind of flowery tea just to see what it’s all about, and we weren’t disappointed at all; the tea set was just simply too cute for words! The aroma was heavenly too, though one would find it wierd that the tea had a flowery taste to it. It’s something you have to get used to I guess.

One of the nicest things about the tea set is its tea cup. It’s so very dainty and cute, and you can see sort of

an air layer between the outside and its content, so that heat doesn’t reach the outer area, hence easy to hold. It gave some sort of an eatheral ambience to the whole experience

oh and I have to add everything in this restaurant is for sale! (watch out for the tags attached to the furnitures!)

Mikel and Christine here can be seen with their food… In fact, all of them ordered pasta in some form or another. Admittedly the portion wasn’t quite as big as, say, Italiannies, but we assure you these tastes much better (and less pricey, too!)

I got myself the pinapple and hamd sandwhich. Don’t ask me why I got them, but I thought it was refreshing to have something citrusy that night

Here’s Zoe’s pasta podorello, simply cause she’s a vegetarian and this is probably one of the few vegetarian selection there is. It was great though, I mean, who could resist those cute, juicy cherry tomatos!

Then our Calamari rings came, which was I have to say pretty good! Mikel definitely loved it

Needless to say, Zoe was happy as well

With that all over and done with, I feel Gardens gave the bestestest ambience ever for this year’s pre-Valentine’s. Thank you Garden, for providing us with such a beautiful place to camwhore

Even to the end, I’m sure all of us were hoping for the time to stop. Having so much fun, laughing together and just enjoying each other’s company without any awkwardness is something I would give anything for. We’re so comfortable with each other that even when Mikel “flashed” we didn’t feel embarrassed one bit! hahha he’s just too funny XD

Thank you, Zoe, Mikel and Christine. My pre-Valentine’s day wouldn’t have been right without you guys. It was because of this that the day afterwards didn’t seem so bad after all, besides being uneventful for the first time in umpteenth years!

They had a few interesting dishes that were meant to be shared. Luckily for us Prue came along and joined us in our bid to fulfill our hunger. Hence we ordered the starter set above, consisting of a selection of authentic Vietnamese delicacies. I think we need not explain the myriad of flavours bursting from each and every morsel found in that wooden holder, lest the pictures doesn’t do it justice.

Here’s another viewing angle. Note that the salad placed in the middle was supposed to be Dragonfruit, but was instead replaced by Lychee since they were out of Dragonfruits. It was then that we realised Vietnamese food places a lot of emphasis on the sweet sourish nature of their sauces, and that each dishes come in a range of beautiful, exotic colours.

Here’s the 3 of us getting ready to feast ourselves. In actual fact though, Splashmilk aka Mikel had already ordered Beef Noodles prior to our large dishes, yet another famed delicacy in Vietnam. It was great, nicely boiled overnight to give the beef tendons their spongy yet firm texture!

Then came the mother of all motherpieces in Vietname. Ok I kid, but apparently this is quite a dish. Priced at 40++ (I can’t remember) it was yet another burst of colours, flavours and interesting textures. Boy the vietnamese can be really creative if they need to be!

I can’t for the life of me recall the name of this dish, but it was mainly fresh vermicilli topped with all the ingredients as you see above, including freshly grilled pieces of lamb all topped in pieces of fried onions, crumbs and most importantly, their infamous sweet, sour and spicy sauce. It is then all “lou-ed” up into a beautiful looking concoction that looks like what you can see below.

The rest of the day, as you can probably tell, was a full-filling dream no thanks to the over-eating we did in Codo. It was really too much to handle, though we did not regret ordering the Beef Noodles. I guess I would come back again, though, only during the start of the month when my salary comes in! (Okay it’s not that expensive, but still… oh and we had free Vietnamese tea as well!)

It wasn’t until later when the three of us made our way to the South Tower’s office buildings, and there was when we met a lot of cool people, heard exciting speeches and once again, got to see Daniel in his full glory: wearing nothing but khaki shorts, slippers and an official shirt. Now THAT’s what I call a true entreprenuer!
