Oysters. Yes, it is a known aphrodisiac, but that’s not what you’re coming to this lovely little restaurant for! Situated at Jalan Genting Klang, KL, Best One Noodle House isn’t really far from the city, and in full view from the main road leading towards MRR2 from Bulatan Pahang, it’s not very hard to miss! The restaurant focuses on health and fresh seafood, which was something I have been looking for these few days in conjunction with the World Health Awareness month of 2009.

The deliciously fresh looking oyster came from one of the restaurant’s specialty called the Oyster soup, served in premium broth. Vegetables and oysters make up the main ingredients of the soup to give a surprisingly tasty and sweet soup that warms your body well in this recently cold weather.

I ordered the Seafood Noodles in Premium soup which is one of the more expensive dishes found in the restaurant at RM13. I later found the dish to be worth it with their generous amount of assorted seafood including clams, scallops, mussels and oysters, seaweed and assorted balls topped with a huge prawn enough to whet your appetite. The broth may have been a little salty to my liking, but it was certainly rich with flavours, not lacking at the savoury department at all!

We also had porridge (they had a very wide selection of porridge choices!) that were all too tempting to choose from, so much so that I’d forgotten what we had! I didn’t really have a good go at it but I should think it was boiled with the very same seafood broth and hence, should be mighty tasty as well.

Other dishes we had were Chicken Rice (sold in a separate stall but located just outside this restaurant) and this plate of vegetable, which was pretty decent, though it can’t quite be compared to my all-time favourite at Fatty Crab. For some reason though the dishes and the ingredients may be same or similar, I do believe every restaurant has a unique style of cooking vegetables which is why I am constantly in search for the best ones out there.

As we entered the restaurant there is no way to avoid taking a look at the well-placed selection of seafood choices, no thanks to the beautiful flourish of colours making it ever so appealing to our taste buds. Spoilt with a number of choices, you can now see why we’re certain to come back and visit the restaurant.

Yet another factor that contributes to the restaurant’s “healthy” image is the fact that you do not see closed up, smoky kitchen area whereby you’ll never know what kind of dirt goes into your food. This transparent glassy interior which hides the kitchen counter behind it speaks a lot for the cleanliness of this restaurant. The ambience, great service from the waiters (though they did initially forgot to provide us chilli, but was then reprimanded by their boss), air conditioned room and bright lights helped to complete it.

There you go, a look at the store from the outside. It cannot be missed at all. Touting itself as the Best One Noodle House, and serving decently cheap prices for the varied seafood selection, I would certainly come back again, if I ever want to eat with health and cleanliness in mind. In fact what would I give right now to see the sumptious selection of seafood again?

*everything*

On a completely DIFFERENT note, do check out RA’s latest initiative in organizing an upcoming global affair phenomenon in conjunction with the World Pillow Fight Day called the Corntoz Pillow Fight!

<img decoding="async" src="" alt="corntoz poster" / width="500">

Along with more than 60 other cities, KL’s very own Pillow Fight will happen at a secret location only to be revealed at RA’s website at RandomAlphabets.com on the 2nd of April (TOMORROW!) 2009 by Zain HD (pic) at 2.00pm.

The event itself will happen at 4pm on the 4th of April 2009, which lies on the same date as Nuffnang’s Maxis Musicon Bash but who says you can’t be going for both! (Well, I am!)

I’m looking forward to see you all there!

offtopic: So I’ve been reading theStar lately, and I noticed I’ve been more absorbed lately by its articles. More freedom in speech? More (if not a little more) unbiased comments on “sensitive” situations? It’s a clear “yes” for both. Yes, even I can be a “yes man” from time to time 😛 I guess we’re… A day in Skybar

offtopic:

So I’ve been reading theStar lately, and I noticed I’ve been more absorbed lately by its articles. More freedom in speech? More (if not a little more) unbiased comments on “sensitive” situations?

It’s a clear “yes” for both. Yes, even I can be a “yes man” from time to time

I guess we’re now in a situation where “change” seems to be predominant, and I really think this is the time to take advantage of, if you really want to make a difference into the lives of the Malaysians. When we ran the first Malaysian Student Leaders Summit last year, along with our Projek Amanat Negara series, we’d never thought our country would come this far by then, making our topics of discussion highly relevant.

But it did.

So what is going to happen from now on? Let’s see, Tun Dr Mahathir has got his own blog now, the Royalties have decided to come out of their usual silent stance in the world of Malaysian politics, popular lifestyle bloggers have began (if they haven’t already) to lend their support spreading all kinds of awareness bar the fear from ministers within the country, more and more corrupt judicial issues being ironed out, the list goes on and on, and yet, you and I can only speculate on what’s next on this “changes” list, presumably arriving sooner than we think. Popcorn, anyone?

————————–

Okay that was one off-topic intro lol. Lesse here, a friend of my friend came down from London with his father, and we were tasked to show them the nightlife here in the the land of Mud (KL la doods) and so we brought them to KLCC’s Thai restaurant, forgot the name lol.

Handome or not?

Lagi handsome lolol

The picture above is my pride and joy while we took them to Skybar, after our scrumptious and zesty dinner, review coming up

Skybar wasn’t that impressive, I thought better of Lunar Bar. I guess it’s mostly due to the humidity level plus the unbearable hotness. I’m just made for air con la. lol.

Sure didn’t stop him from having fun Oh and this is the first time I came up with this new photo-taking technique, by synching someone’s flash by the side to the time I take the shot! Nice?

Another attempt. But fail tho. Must be the model la haha.

I must admit the design’s pretty cool tho. And if you DO get that seat outlooking KLCC, the experience is a one-time must! It’s not the first time I’ve been here, but neither it is going to be the last because we of the Catalyst, Imperial Alumni may be organising an event here

Yea, and I froze. Like, literally!

BUT FIRST, let’s tell you about how we went to the meeting point at Lot 10, as described by the organisers through both Facebook and their website (which was revealed only at 11pm, on the 11th of April, how cool is that!) When we arrived about , there wasn’t many people around, but I’d notice guys and girls carrying cameras double their size which clearly shows that they were expecting something to happen.

Then came the “secret message” that we were waiting for, in form of these cute little orange slips..

and the back it says:

So that was how we moved on to Pavillion, KL, our Freeze Point!

Yeap, we being me and Pinkpau! Camwhorerers (wtf) will always unite you know. We take pictures of ourselves because we feel very comfortable about it. Well, in my case it’s also because nobody takes pictures of me also la, so what to do ma take myself lo! My sisters were there too but they fail la, never freeze also. sheesh

If any of you guys read theStar, you’d notice they mentioned some props being used… lemme quote:

The participants had obviously showed up with ideas on how they were going to pose, as some even brought props including umbrellas, ice cream and even Post-It notes stuck on their body promoting their websites.

There was only one group with ice cream as their props, New Zealand Natural to be specific, and that was none other than…

Yours Truly!! XD

Anyway, truth to be told we were lovers having a huge spat on why I seem to be hanging out with this girl that I used to go out with, and I patiently told Pinkpau that I need time to sort it out this complication but she wouldn’t want to listen to a word I say! So beware beware the wrath of a woman scorn especially when your incorrigible lover is holding unto an unfinished ice cream, behold and watch as smashPop sneakily records what happened during the war…

And that would be the end of our story! Actually hor we did continue to argue after that, but everyone was applausing after us and drowned us so what to do lor. That was the only thing I wasn’t satisfied about, but seriously, the whole damn thing was so cool! Thanks to Zain and team for organizing this~!

The Culprits: Chris of Spinzer.uS and Pinkpau of Quaintly.net!
