True to my thoughts, the Launch at Borneo Rainforest also proved that iTalkWhoa – the “wonder” portal –  will be an enabler to allow all of us, young and old, regardless of race, religion and background, to better communicate with each other. Why do I say that?

Well, for one thing, we had various bloggers from different networks all meeting up for the first time since having to “choose sides”, and for me it’s an amazing scene! If you were here you’d probably know a lot of these bloggers as they have been around for quite some time

So it’s great to know that you’ll get to see all your friends under one roof, which is essentially the same concept of iTalkWhoa: the portal which is able to connect its users to multiple different websites and networks – including Twitter, GTalk, emails, MSN Messenger, Facebook and a whole lot more… all in the comfort of one platform.

Can it be any easier than this?

Obviously it was also the ripe time to camwhore or to shoot at all the hot girls here, that’s how everyone connects, isn’t it? Especially for the Original Buaya Yatz haha! ;p

Good to see a few others that I haven’t seen for sometime too… For example Suanie here and I, we go long way back. At that time I was supposed to marry her but I couldn’t well afford RM20,000 a month dowry fee haha!

Lots of other funny thing happened but I guess it’s another post for another day, eh? Before I end though, I just want to quote Mr Simon Seow, whom a lot were expecting not to be at this event that day due to another event happening at the same time… so the lot of us were curious, and asked him why. However I must admit that it’s the most hassle free BB plan ever, it’s just too bad I’m saving for the iPhone 3GS later before buying the Blackberry Storm (I prefer touch screen :P)

Now did that catch your attention? Bet it did! These, folks, are the Malaysian Dreamgirls of Season 2 modeling in Cheong Sams, which is a traditional costume for the Chinese. Its sultry look is supposed to enhance the curves of the wearer’s body, thus increasing their sex appeal. If you can’t see it, most likely the wearer does not have what it takes to be a model.

A harsh judgement, but unfortunately in a world where you will only have one winner and the rest losers, a girl has to do what a girl’s got to do. Now let’s get back to how I came about for the event, which is mostly thanks to Dennis who was being such an awesome friend

Luckily for me, I was given the VIP treatment while looking for a carpark. Meaning to say, as I turned around the corner where the main entrance to Bangsar Avenue was located, a car decided to leave gracefully allowing me to have the treasured spot, much to the dismay of those in front and those at the back. I immediately joined Yatz, Zoe and friends to a light dinner (which is advisable before having free flow of beer later :P)

The event was delayed a little which meant we had time to meet a lot of common friends before ending our networking session at the VIP area. I had a good view on the walkway from up here, and took some pictures of the models as they graced the platform with catwalks that my dear friend Dennis taught.

At the bottom of the stage there was mayhem as the crowd each in turn pushed each other to get a closer look, hoping to get a great shot of the girls. Some were family, some bloggers but I guess there were many perverted guys waiting to get a chance to hit on these girls lol.

There were about 3 sessions of catwalks each sponsored by different sponsors, hence you would get the girls posing with HP laptop models, or wearing bridal gown etc. I guess they weren’t too bad though we found some of the girls shaking their hips too much much to our distaste. Where’s the elegance in it?

Well without delving too much about the catwalks the quirky sequence of music etc I’m ending this post about the MDG here with support to my two favourites, which are Pinky and the sporty woman who’s name always bypasses me!

And now, it’s on with the usual camwhoring session

Ching was around this time, from an invite from Andrew, and it wasn’t that hard introducing Ching to Yee Hou cause they pretty much layaned each other from the very beginning lol.

Aaron is somebody who I won’t be surprised to see wherever there’re gorgeous ladies around! I guess you could call him a ladies man haha. Here’s him and Zoe making a pose for a quickshot. I must admit it isn’t a very nice shot but you could see Zoe’s little special stud which I found amazing

Give Ching (and BUY even) a few pints of beer and there she goes all crazy No la I’m kidding. Ching can drink like… er… I don’t know. She can just drink, period.

I’m no longer surprised to see Zoe in these events, although I must say I never really thought highly of the fact that she’s enjoying herself in clubs. Then again it was really fun seeing her after our e-Lawyer and Digi & Nuffnang’s Blogger Night Out. (which reminds me, I’ve yet to blog about the eLawyer Law 2009 Conference and I really have to! They’ve even mentioned me at their site, which is pretty nice of them to )

We saw Ming, one of the MDG contestants, taking photos with some of the audience so me and Thomas Yap decided to show to the world how short she actually is! Haha evilnyerrr…. At the same time I met Kel Li and Diese again which was cool, and of course none of them hesitated to camwhore. Bloggers, go figure.

Then of course there were the pro-photographers. Heh. David and Andrew, they both damn pandai take camwhore shots with their DSLR la, serious! haha. (Oh go visit Andrew, he gave his site a complete makeover! Woots!)

Finally it was great to meet Suresh! And before we left the place for mamak session (which is another whole long story altogether, LOL!!) I said goodbye to Ching who’s been nothing but fun from the first time I met her through Nuffnang

Oh and before I forget, who else is going for Mist Club’s Exclusive Grand Launch happening this Thursday, the 26th of March 2009? I know it’s happening at the same time on Zouk’s birthday but who could ever resist RM1.00 for EACH FREAKING GLASS OF BEER OR HOUSE POURING?!?! (Not Ching for sure! eh wait, not this Ching as in Chee Ching but the other super-drinker Ching from the first few pictures haha!)

I for one have been waiting for something like this, since I started using Live Messenger on my iPhone not to long ago. The problem was that it was harder typing out messages compared to using the keypad which I’m so used to (I’m sure quite a number of you could type on T9 without looking at the your phone, right?) and this is a godsend feature for me to use with my Nokia N73. Getting used to it is a matter of starting the application, logging in and then just wait for your friends to contact you, which is the very reason why being mobile on Live Messenger is so practical. I mean, how many people on your Live Messenger contact list actually does have your phone number?

Being the clever people they are, they were quick to organize an exclusive outing at Friendster Cafe for a selected bunch of bloggers from Nuffnang. Apart from the interesting presentation they had, we generally had such a great time enjoying the great food there, as well as getting to know other fellow bloggers that we’ve not met before, and testing out the Live Messenger application on selected phones.

For me, it was also my first time meeting Kim Ong. It was easy connecting with her since we’ve met each other randomly before but never had the chance to talk. I also had the honour of meeting SaimatKong and the other Chris, Chris Thoo whom many have mistaken our names for each other lol. Kim was obviously the best choice to be the model showing off the phone which we used to try the application out.

Being a prankster, it’s natural that some of us decided to play a fool with the unknown moderator hiding behind the presentation screen. Out of the 5 to 6 phones going around for bloggers to try out the messenger, some were pretty hilarious as everything could be seen on screen. All in all it was really an easy experience and I can imagine a day when more and more users of mobile phone would get used to instant connectivity without being worried about data charges, which is the current reason why many would not want to touch services such as these.

After the initial free period of 2 months, a flat fee of RM3 is charged every month thereafter and to be honest, that’s a really small price to pay especially if you’re an avid user of Live Messenger. Think: waiting for your girlfriend to do her shopping, you choose a place to sit comfortably, whip out your phone and start chatting with friends. Before you know it, time would have passed by quickly since you’re actually doing something while waiting, and all this for free too! Read more about the promotion by clicking here!

Games ensued then straight after we all had a go at the application, and one of them required us to contort our facial expression into the emoticons that we’re used to seeing on Live Messenger! Needless to say the sporting ones went for it knowing they could possibly win one of the following prizes on the table:

• 1. Red Coca-cola hat
• 2. Two different brands of premium sunnies
• 3. Microsoft Webcam
• 4. A set of headphones, and finally
• 5. 3 sets of PSP, which everyone had their eyes on!

Of course these people, like Robb for instance, didn’t know that the PSPs were not actually out as prizes for the games, nor for the lucky draw (which btw, I won the Coca Cola cap from. No thanks to Thomas Yap who jinxed my ticket after winning a cap himself, arrghh!!) meaning that they really did do all their silly faces for the rest of us to laugh at lol! Well some of the prize winners went back with the Microsoft webcam, like Zoe and Kim for instance, so it was worth it to them

After the games we over, we were left to our own devices… and when you leave the bloggers to their own devices, you get a mayhem with bloggers going everywhere taking pictures of themselves with other bloggers ie camwhoring, some rushing to the free flow of beer and some finishing off the leftover food at the buffet line (we thought that the Cream Dory Fish and Mutton Curry was AWESOME!!).

There was pretty much time to catch up with those who I haven’t met for some time, but then again there are people who you will see wherever you go! One of them is Soon Seng who I’ve been seeing for the last 3 events I have been to, so much so that it got pretty freaky to know that we have quite a number of friends in common. I remember this really well when he appeared at my birthday just end of last year, showing that he’s also friends with my college mates lol.

Then there’ll be those you know you don’t have to bother to chat up with, because you almost always see them around. Huai Bin will be one prime example of this phenomenon. Chris Thoo is NOT an example, and I’m glad we met at this event! Hope to see more of you dude

Sometimes we use props to continue camwhoring without any reasons whatsoever. In this case, we found the large-sized emoticons particularly amusing!

One of the best ideas I’ve ever seen so far, especially when you have blogger events like these, is the thing you see above! The banner itself is HUGE! At first empty, all of us would naturally feel like leaving a mark on it, so instead of the usual signatory thingie, we instead left our Live Messenger nicknames and status! Some were pretty funny, especially David Cheong of Royalshortness, who’s nick says “I’m short so I write down here” which you can find at the bottom corner on the right side LOL why you so funny David!!

How could we resist doing the Chris Two thingamagic!!! (like I’ve said, any excuse for camwhoring )

I had the pleasure to accompany Cindy Tey, otherwise known as Jade Zheng, to a blogger’s makan and minum session at G.A.B. (that’s Guinness Anchor Berhad) and though we had a heavy downpour , I still managed to arrive at her place in time and send the both of us to G.A.B. factory located at the left side of the “fake” penang bridge going towards Kepong/Sunway (really, you can’t miss it!)

Inside the vast compound there were a few buildings, each with their specific functions.

We were led to Building 2, which wasn’t the building where they brew fresh drafts of beer (I was honestly disappointed but Jasmine who works for Heineken said she might do a tour one day!) but where they placed an English-looking pub-esque bar for their staff and guests to have a pint or two after a hard day’s work.

Then there was this really nice Saxophonic looking dispenser, it looks so cool that I couldn’t resist putting it up here without any reason whatsoever lol.

Well, apparently it’s true according to certain researchers! However in this context, and I testify for it myself, Cindy never changed throughout my Heineken-filled night; she looked as gorgeous as ever from the beginning to the end!

The Heineken Affair

One of the latest initiative by Heineken all around the world is their launch of their latest online gaming project called the Star Finale 2009 that I found really exciting!

Those who’ve heard of their past gaming initiatives will know that this is by no means new, in fact, the last event I’d been to was soccer-related in a bid to win this 3-player online game in order to win a trip fully sponsored by Heineken to Krabi!

My team which consisted of Andrew and Joshua lost out to KY‘s team, made of Suanie and Horny Horng (and it was all my fault *whimpers*) who later went on to win the game, which will mean they get sent to Krabi to watch one of the biggest Champion League game (Suanie would probably just enjoy the stars drinking Heineken, dunno what she’ll want to do with those balls anyway )

I, meanwhile, would prefer to eye myself on the Star Final: Journey to the finale! and win it with style

Creating and customizing your own ship, allowing it to journey for at least 5 days and at the same time able to drop messages for your fellow friends or enemies to read (HAHA SLOW POKE!) and imagining their creaming faces when they receive them, and to top it all… combining into one super large fleet of forces all heading towards the same path, lead by our Nuffnang leaders Tim and Ming to collect major points, doesn’t all that sound so exciting for you?!

Well it does for me, so why don’t you all go ahead and head to http://starfinal.com and register first, and when Tim finally starts his fleet we can all join forces to create the largest fleet ever to cross the ocean! (Don’t forget we’re competing with other countries as well! As far as I know Italy is already having more than 200 registered users since the site launched 3 days ago)

Many of us were quite excited as it was explained to us. It then occurred to me that this could be the reason for us being gathered together that night, but Natasha of Compass Communications tells me that it really is for providing us free food and free flow of Heineken all night long. Go figure *winks*

And oh looky what we have here. Like watch cinema is it, the two of you! sheesh lol.

Done correctly, you won’t overspill the foam which is a skill that takes months of experience to achieve!

Robb shows that you need muscles to pull off a good tap. Unfortunately for him he’s giving the wrong focus here; concentrate on the tapping man, not the showing off!

Tim takes his stand; he was supposed to be the saviour of the male species since the girls were doing far better than the guys. Unfortunately he didn’t know another secret of tapping was to put the frosted mug in exactly 45 degrees to reduce the foam!

You’d think Gareth the White Man would pull it off like a natural. Think again, his overconfidence literally overflowed as he confidently took a gamble at pulling a quick draft equated to spilling more than a quarter of its contents.

And so the newly-botak Kenny took the stage. With all eyes concentrated on him, he tried pulling off all the secrets that he learned while watching the rest make a fool of themselves.

It was an epic failure. He forgot that the final secret to tapping is that the pressure used to START moving the lever up and STOP by placing the lever back in place has to be very precise in order to create no foam in the beginning, and a little foam at the end.

Kinda like the opposite of what he achieved. LAWL.
