So this is a quick one from last night, sort of testing this new mobile app I downloaded on my iPhone 5. Went looking around for lunch and got recommended to this place called Yik Kee Restaurant at TTDI on HungryGoWhere.my and the reviews was really good at least according to the people who reviewed it lah. So #Jingy and I went to test it out…

And we were pleasantly surprised Portions were huge (we couldn’t finish this so tapao-ed instead), the sauce was really yummy without too much MSG (yea, no dry throat later) and the prawns, well, they were big and had that yummy brainy flavour to it.. You know what I mean?

Noodles were just AMAZING!

We tried other assorted dishes like the Roast Duck but wasn’t really good lah, I think we’ll just stick to the recommended orders from HungryGoWhere instead to avoid disappointment haha. These restaurants should really take a look at the reviews so that they can improve themselves, #justsaying.

Anyway do try it out. It’s available on both Google Play and iOS, it’s so convenient and it helps with deciding what to eat

Search HungryGoWhere Malaysia on Google Play or app store to download, or if you’re viewing this blogpost on your mobile, I’ve made it convenient so you could click here which links to the appstore

Did that tickle your taste buds? It should. Vegetarian, non-halal, whichever background you come from, if these pictures don’t make you salivate (you don’t have to eat it, right? :P) then there’s something wrong with your tastebuds. Or should I say, eyes. lol.

Anyway presenting one of the best places to eat Honey Barbequed Pork Ribs, among others such as Char Siew, Siu Yoke etc. I know I know, you’re gonna ask isn’t Tengkat Tong Shin there the best place for these delicacies? My answer: PRICE. I will not pay for overpriced good food, simply because I think honesty is best preserved in the food business.

You do not cut your valued customer’s throats, in ANY segment. As far as the food industry is concerned, this applies as well. Well, here in Jalan Angsoka, KL, you’ll get good pricing as well as tasty, yummy dishes! Even looking at these pictures again makes me want to grab my computer screen and take a bite off it.

Of course Roast Chicken and Duck are also served here, as with many stalls of similar kind. Tender meat, tasty duck, all goods and passes with no complains from me.

Maybe something else worth trying is the rice and sauce. I have something with rice and sauces, as in back then in London, I used to go Four Seasons to have multiple rice portions eaten with just the sweetish sauce, without any meat! Well in this case it was worth doing the same, I really loved the sauce here, goes so well with the meat. As for the rice, I love it that it’s not too butterily tasty, just enough to give the dash of aroma complementing the delicacies spread before me.

Veggies are plentiful as well. We decided to go for sour & spicy veggie that was served piping hot. Unfortunately it wasn’t that tasty, nor spicy or sour, a little unimpressive if you ask me. Must try other veggie dishes maybe when I’m back here again.

This review was made available thanks to Jason Sim, my buddy. His pictures can be found here and the way to get here is also really easy coming from Pavilion or Wisma Genting, Raja Chulan Monorail station. One just needs to get to the Istana Hotel and head around it to find this large tree behind Hotel Istana, and that’s where you will find this little chicken rice stall

Ever tried Soon Fatt’s all-famous Roast Duck located at Pudu, KL? Look no further, just oogle at the pic below:

So, what do you think? Looks kinda amazing right? See again, and notice that it’s actually Roast Goose! A little too big for a duck, no? When we arrive there at 1.00pm, their ducks were all sold out. Yes, it’s THAT famous, and you’ve got to book in advance to secure a duck, through its jovial owner Micheal Chu.

Yet another popular dish is the Char Siew aka Roast Pork. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, it’s flavourful burst of bbq sweetness goes really well with…

Their rice. I know, it’s just rice, but it really tasted so good! Probably more of ajinomoto goodness

Many thanks to my seniors for taking me around tasting all kinds of famous stall foods during our lunch break. I guess there are many more to come!

The Soon Fatt Beijing Roasted Duck stall is located on Jalan Pasar, opposite the Pusat Makanan Peng Hwa which is right beside Hong Leong Bank.
