5 ways to watch #ThomasCup Finals MAS vs JPN!

Dear Malaysians,

It is indeed an amazing experience for our team to be in the finals for Thomas Cup 2014!

Team Malaysia will be against Japan at the finals today at 5.30pm and here’s how you all can show your support and send your wishes/prayer/hopes/dreams to our players in New Delhi, India!!!

Choice No. 1 – Mamak Stalls

mamak al safa

Bring RM5 and head to your favourite mamak for a glass of Teh O’ Ais and have a roti canai while watching the match. Be sure to book your place as early 5pm. Mamak nowadays come with big TV Screens and some even allow you to have good shisha 🙂 We are sure it’ll be full even by then!

Let me list down the few places you can’t miss out

1) Safiz Corner, Sri Hartamas

2) Al – Safa, Bandar Utama (generally all Al – Safa but I love the one in BU for they have Shisha

3) BRJ, Wangsa Maju

4) Pelita (All Outlets)

5) Nasi Kayu Kandar (All Outlets)

Share with me if you know your neighbourhood has better mamaks with big screens for the match!

Choice No.2 – McDonalds

The BIG M not only provide you an air conditioned area with their burgers and coke. Some even housed McCafe where you can grab a muffin and Latte. This is certainly the best spot if you have to bring your high maintenance partner who refuse to go to a mamak or open air food court to have a good time with your mates. Mcdonald’s provide free WI-FI where you can even share the latest status or your partner could surf and shop online (Talk about watching a match in style yet affordable).  Bear in mind that Mcdonald’s no longer provide free soft drinks refills, EACH refill would now cost RM0.50.

Choice No.3 – Open Aired Food Courts

If you prefer other food over the match, there’s always open aired food court that provides large TV Screens. Have your favourite Char Koey Teow or Mee Rebus while the Malaysian Team is in action!

My favourite is at Rasta’s. Yours?

Choice No. 4  – Friend’s House (Not yours so you don’t have to clean up :P)

This is my favourite hang out place at a bestie’s house! They are superb jolly and warmth couple! Here’s to my friend’s BUM! hahaha

Pick up your phone now and start gathering mates to either crash at your place for the match or your friend’s place who has the largest screen. As for those who are crashing in your mates’ places. Don’t be a kiam siap okay? Get ready some snack for all! Here are some I recommend =p

1) Twisties
2) Pizza
3) Pringles Chips
4) Coca Cola
5) Toppo (My recent favourite snack)
6) Hello Panda (nyom nyom nyom)
7) Green Tea

The list goes on and on… feel free to comment and give me ideas (I’m going to snack shopping)

PS – You can now watch it LIVE on these channels:

(Exclusively Free for all Malaysians to watch the match! EVEN NON SUBSCRIBERS! YAY!)

– ASTRO Sports Channel 801 or Channel 829 for HD version

Choice No.5 – Pubs

For those who enjoy a malt drink or two (Just like me). Here are a few spots I located that sells cheaper drinks all night long at a flat rate

1) Happer, Damansara Jaya

2) BarFly

Anyhow you can always have a cheaper drink at 5.30pm as it’s still in the Happy Hour time range for most pubs 🙂

Quick Facts:

1) Chong Wei Feng has won all his matches in his maiden Thomas Cup Tournament

2) Doubles  Tan Boon Heong & Hoon Thien How had beaten the World’s best men’s double pairMohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan over 21-19, 8-21, 23-21

3) Japan China’s Domination of 5 years win at the Thomas Cup. (Surprising eh?)

4) Malaysia has been on a 22 years drought since the last winning in 1992.

Now my friends, LET’S CHEER THEM ON!!!

Wanna say something?
