Toast & Roast Restaurant @ SS2 Hakka Noodles & Char Siew

Just the other day @zique aka Mike Yip came over to visit our @SocialGrooves office at Damansara Intan, and we took the chance to visit Toast & Roast Restaurant which I never visited before despite working here for more than a year!

Needless to say, the greedy part of us ordered plenty of food, definitely too many for just the two of us, and this is what we had…

The Hakka Noodles here are pretty good, and you could tell that they used lard to give it the extra ooomph! Decently priced at  RM5.50 for the large portion too. I can’t really eat “chu yau char” or pork crackling in English, but if you like that, you’ll love this. Hence, this place is not halal *duh* 😛

The Char Siew is also one of the main attraction of this place. Although it cannot beat my favourite place (can’t tell you where!) it is still pretty juicy and tasty, and definitely goes well with my Hakka noodles, yum! Make sure you order the “pun fei sau” for maximum sin!

Not really a big fan of the roast pork, but hey if you like it, it taste decent. Still, it doesn’t give the “melt in your mouth” feeling like that other restaurant does. Still not telling you which one 😛

The taugeh is decent, and adds a light flavour to the already heavy tasting dishes we had. Anyway, I’ll always recommend you to get this unless the texture sucks, which in this case, doesn’t.

We added meatballs to the fray and found it lovingly tender, so I’ll add that too if I  were you. Otherwise it was a great lunch and we even sempat tapau for @catallus85 who was waiting in the office. Later on Mike would then give me tips and advices to run @socialgrooves, and I’ll be forever thankful to him if we can grow by 200 fold this year. Here’s to a great year ahead, buddy!
