Of Youth '10 Festival and Dreams

Ok as some of you may have found out, I am no longer with my first paying corporate job right after graduation. Does this mean that I’m “graping” now? Yes, and no. Allow me to elaborate:

Can you spot me?

Yes, I finally found the necessary guts needed to get out of my comfort zone with a fixed salary to work on goals that truly matter, at least to me. I may be free from my corporate slavery working from 8.30am till 5.30pm, sometimes longer, but for some reason the past 2 weeks were the most hectic days of my life. Labour Day, which was the 31st 0f April, become the last day of my corporate stint at ECM Libra, and also the first day towards a 6 figure project which I hope to secure before Youth ’10 Festival happening  on the 28th to the 30th of May 2010. A tall order I might add seeing how huge this project is worth, but nevertheless, a man can but dream.

As you may suspect, yes, the project will relate to most of the organizations I’m currently attached with, not only as the cofounder of Young Corporate Malaysians but also as a technical advisor to RandomAlphabets and Wago, and lastly, as a council member of the Imperial College Alumni Association in Malaysia. It will affect mostly the development of Youths and the Young Corporates of Malaysia, especially in the finance and economic field (hint: BURSA Malaysia), so that they are better equipped to be the leaders to the nation I so dearly love, the country I call home, Malaysia.

Thus from now on, my blog will not necessarily just be on events and food reviews (in fact I can hardly find the time to write on any of those, mostly I just cover them via my Twitter account at @spinzer) but will also contain splatters of re-enlightenments and dreams, and hopefully mostly of achievements. Otherwise you’d find the blog dead, like how it has been for the past 3 weeks or so.

I hope all of you will share with me your support as I embark in this journey full of challenges. For instance, in my personal finance situation, I am currently in debt no thanks to my credit card usage and also to the surprise stunt my ex-company pulled on me. However thanks to the support of my loved ones, I’ve shredded my cards for good, and will be working on personal projects to relinquish my debts fully before the end of June. What personal projects you ask? Well, in case you didn’t know I provide support and solutions on complete startups as well as social media strategy for small companies and personal blogs, some of them listed on my “Adding links” tab you see above. I don’t intend to make a business out of it, but it does help in terms of quick cash, and as of now I’ve gotten my debt half paid already!

On a personal note, I want to thank the guys at Live & Inspire for making me a columnist of their online magazine. I don’t know when my articles will be up but when it is, I’ll let you know. It’ll mostly be about my inspirations and joy in every day life 🙂

I also want to make a special mention to the guys at Sunway University College for requesting me to be a judge on their newest online bloggest contest initiative called My Success, My Dreams aimed at Malaysians between 15-17 year old. It does my great honour to be places along the likes of Khailee, and I really appreciate it.

Finally, I want to let you know that I’ll be taking part in the Relay For Life – a Social Media Initiative by Niki Cheong, so do read up on what it is all about and show your support by donating on my behalf!

It’s time to take charge of my dreams, and turn it into a reality filled with passion and the love to live!
